He was told to be very careful to put it gently on the kitchen surface. Mam went to save the washing. Dad went to change the baby. Iona waited til everyone was out of the kitchen to slyly steal the egg. Did it have a chick or not? There was only one way to find out. Mam spotted her with her dripping load. Nooo.. not the egg. A mad dash from the washing line saved the yolk... It never made it to a cake. We fried it and had it for our dinner and a very tasty morsel it made! It was a real pleasure being up there on your bit of hill. One of these days I will come and stay in the B & B, but with only 16 days holiday a year it won't be this one sadly. In my opinion it's better to sow thin and have some seeds that don't sprout than to have to thin them out later and risk damaging delicate seedlings. These actually don't look too bad, though.
